Green

Green

Green, being the color of chlorophyll, a pigment in plants, is linked to nature. As a result, the color green is used to represent environmental activism. Products and actions that protect the environment are often referred to as "green."

In Ancient Egypt, the color green symbolized rebirth and regeneration, often linked to nature, growth, and renewal. In Islamic cultures, green has strong positive associations and appears frequently in religious texts, art, and architecture, especially in descriptions of paradise.

Green has also carried negative meanings in some cultural contexts. In parts of medieval European art and literature, it was sometimes associated with danger, deception, or the unnatural. In modern language, green is also linked to jealousy, as seen in the phrase “green with envy."[1]

The color also stands for growth, youth, and hope in many cultures due to its associations with the spring season and the rebirth of the earth's fertility.[2]
