An overview of this role

As a Senior Product Manager, Hosted Runners, you will shape a core part of how GitLab users run continuous integration and continuous delivery workloads. Hosted Runners are the execution layer behind pipelines, and this role focuses on the platform side of turning that capability into a reliable SaaS offering for GitLab.com and GitLab Dedicated. You will report into the platform organization and work closely with engineering to define what we build, how we bring it to market, and how we make it valuable for customers.

This is a high-ownership role with meaningful scope. In your first year, you will help drive a top roadmap priority, contribute to progress toward general availability and beyond for dedicated use cases, and contribute to product strategy, pricing and packaging, and service delivery. You will also work on an area that is becoming more important to GitLab as execution infrastructure enables broader platform capabilities, including the GitLab Duo Agent Platform.

What you’ll do

  • Guide product strategy and roadmap definition for Hosted Runners as a SaaS platform offering for GitLab.com and GitLab Dedicated, aligning delivery to roadmap milestones and increasing adoption against defined product goals.
  • Partner with the engineering manager and engineering team to prioritize platform capabilities, operational requirements, and service readiness to support reliable launches and improve service performance against agreed reliability targets.
  • Define product requirements for how runners execute pipeline jobs across customer workloads, with attention to compute, containers, and related infrastructure needs, improving reliability, scalability, and adoption across supported use cases.
  • Shape pricing and packaging in collaboration with cross-functional partners, helping connect product direction to business value and support revenue growth objectives.
  • Work with go-to-market teams on customer conversations, deal-related questions, and product positioning for hosted runner offerings, improving field readiness and customer clarity in current sales cycles.
  • Work across product and platform teams to clarify ownership between the application layer of Runners and the platform layer that delivers the service, reducing delivery friction and speeding cross-team alignment.
  • Contribute to launch planning and ongoing iteration for dedicated and SaaS runner experiences, helping deliver releases that meet launch readiness expectations and drive ready customer adoption.
  • Communicate product trade-offs, priorities, and progress clearly to stakeholders across engineering, product, and commercial teams to maintain alignment and accelerate decision-making on roadmap priorities.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience working on continuous integration, continuous delivery, or adjacent developer tools products such as pipeline execution, build systems, or deployment platforms.
  • Experience evaluating technical trade-offs in infrastructure topics such as compute, containers, Docker, and service platforms in close partnership with engineers.
  • Ability to own a product area with broad scope, including strategy, execution, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Familiarity with business-facing product work such as pricing, packaging, or exposure to product choices connected to revenue and service delivery.
  • Experience engaging with customers and internal commercial teams to identify needs, contribute to deals, and inform roadmap choices.
  • Experience working in distributed teams and partnering effectively across product, engineering, and go-to-market functions.
  • Experience communicating priorities and technical trade-offs clearly while navigating complex technical spaces.
  • We welcome candidates with transferable experience, including those who moved from infrastructure or engineering roles into product management.

About the team

The Hosted Runners team at GitLab works on the platform side of runner capabilities, building the service layer that allows customers to use runners as a SaaS offering on GitLab.com and in dedicated environments. We partner closely with adjacent product and engineering groups that own the application layer of Runners, and we work asynchronously across regions with engineering, product, and go-to-market stakeholders. Our current focus is turning a critical part of GitLab's continuous integration and continuous delivery experience into a scalable, sellable platform service that meets enterprise customer needs while enabling broader platform execution capabilities.
