Static compositions appear orderly, poised, and geometrically stable. The compositional center usually coincides with the geometric center or one of the axes of symmetry. Static compositions are usually closed, have subdued color and tonal contrasts, and use straight horizontal and vertical lines crossing at 90-degree angles.
