User journey for a Co Working Space
As a service designer Im tasked with creating a customer journey map for a co-working space that provides an offsite workplace. As a designer located in Bangladesh, I selected Moar- One of the more popular co working spaces in the country. As for the project I had to conduct a competitive analysis, create user personas and create the user journey map.
Competitive Analysis
For the competitive analysis of Moar, I selected three national and international co working companies. The three international companies are Wework, Workbar and Co+Hoots. I chose to conduct a SWOT Analysis on these companies to gain insights for Moar.
For further insights, I conducted a SWOT analysis of the local competitors too. This includes The Hive, Impact Hub and Co Space. Since this was based in Bangladesh, this step was important to me to improve the existing service for Moar. The insights are provided below
After gaining the insights from the SWOT analysis, I created a user persona based on the information I gathered. I tried creating personas based on two user groups:
- People who are planning to work solo in the spaces
- People planning to work in teams
Based on these the two personas I created are Nafis - a freelance digital marketer and Farhana - A founder of a tech startup. Their personas are provided below:
Finally, based on Nafis's persona. we created a customer journey map. This sets a good starting point for the project in my opinion.
Due to business, i couldnt complete the other persona in time. Will Edit and update this project later. Would love your feedbacks. Thanks for viewing. Cheers!
Reviews
The SWOTs are precisely summarised, good for presentation, when you chose these international co working companies were they all local players? I'm not saying that insights from them aren't valuable but something I didn't get from the persona's (which are otherwise fine) was the emphasis on local audience. The value in your research is not in the generic insights which could be summarised from any place in the world, they are instead in the targetted local business opportunities of working freelancers (Nafi) and tech founders (Farina) in and around specifically Bangladesh. I think Moar would be particularly impressed if you could back up these personas with supportive interviews from local potential targets. Using those interviews you might be able to cite some particularly local insights into their behaviour which Moar may find business opportunity within. This is your opportunity as a truly observant and effective designer.
