Design Principles for Coursera
I chose Coursera as the educational service for this project because of its widespread influence and the way it supports learners from all walks of life. As I approached this, I thought about how Coursera's platform needed to stay user-focused while accommodating new features and innovations.
I wanted the design principles to be clear enough that they could align different teams on decisions, keeping the user experience seamless and intuitive. It was important to think beyond just usability or visual design, these principles needed to embody what makes Coursera valuable to learners: accessibility, clarity, and a supportive learning environment.
Working on this project showed me that solid design principles don’t just help with the current state of a platform—they lay the groundwork for future growth and help ensure that as new elements are added, the user experience remains strong and consistent.
Reviews
Hello İpek, the design is smooth and visually appealing. The text is both legible and easy to read. Perhaps you could adjust the striped-lined shape on the right side, between "Understanding Coursera's Core Values" and "Formulating User-Centered Design Principles." It is discontinued, isn't it? This adjustment might help make the page feel smoother and more cohesive.
